Skyler plays a key role in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures, as well as monitoring and analyzing key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Skyler is a husband and father of two young children. He is originally from Kansas City, where he currently lives with his wife, Chelsea, and their two kids.
From 2013-2017 he played college football at Missouri Western, where he was a standout Quarterback starting for 4 years and being voted a 3x Team Captain. During his last two years on campus, Skyler was also the President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). After college, he pursued a career in coaching, spending three years as an assistant coach at the collegiate and high school levels. During his time in the high school ranks as Offensive Coordinator, he was awarded the Arlington Independent School District Assistant Coach of the Year award.
In 2020, Skyler decided to retire from coaching to start his own business. He opened a healthcare staffing franchise, and he now works for the same Franchisor as a performance and operations consultant, helping other franchise business owners improve their performance and streamline their operations. In addition to his full-time consulting work, Skyler also does freelance graphic design and content creation.
In 2023, Skyler was also appointed President of the Jonathan Owens Foundation. Jonathan Owens is a Safety for the Green Bay Packers and has been in the NFL for 6 seasons. The Jonathan Owens Foundation focuses on collecting funding to improve early diagnosis capabilities for rare diseases in women, and also funding for young student-athletes with great early academic standing and a desire to continue their athletic careers.
In his free time, Skyler enjoys spending time with his family, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, and riding dirtbikes. He is also an avid fan of graphic design and loves to create digital art in his spare time.
Why did you help found OBC?
It started with Dom and Vince honestly. I met Dom playing college football and we had been really close even after graduating and going our separate ways. He reached out about getting this started and I knew I could provide value in the business aspects of his vision, so I was on board immediately.
What do you love most about what OBC is doing?
We're really out here making an impact. It's easy to talk about what you want to do... but in a short amount of time we've partnered with powerful organizations, put 100 VOGs in the water, sponsored conservation banquets, and more. It's fun and exciting to talk about things, but it's even better to get out there and really do them.
How can OBC change the world?
I think we will make our biggest impact by empowering the average citizen to take impactful action. Once we all realize that we can individually move the needle even just slightly, we will see how much we can all move the needle together.
What's your favorite quote?
"And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
