As Field Ops Director, Vince's daily activity consists of coordinating and supervising staff, volunteers, and other resources to ensure that programs are implemented effectively and efficiently.
Vince was born and raised on the suncoast of Florida. He spent 3 years playing college basketball at Southeastern University, where he played shooting guard.
In 2020, he co-founded Sota Supply Co with his brother Dom. The clothing brand focuses on highlighting the 941 area code and surrounding locales in Southwest Florida.
As OBC's Field Operations Director, Vince has been the driving force behind the organization's early success in assembling and installing over 100 vertical oyster gardens. He is passionate about being on or in the water and enjoys activities such as wake surfing, fishing, and swimming with the manatees.
Vince believes that with the contributions of OBC board members and dedicated volunteers, the Oyster Boys can initiate major positive change in Florida. He is committed to working towards the organization's mission of preserving and protecting the state's natural biome.
Why did you help found OBC?
It began when we noticed how many manatees died in 2021. We discovered the main cause was essentially food shortages for them, which pointed us to poor water quality. With how much I love spending time in or around the ocean, I knew this was a great opportunity to make a change.
What do you love most about what OBC is doing?
Our organization is dedicated to addressing a specific issue or need in our community, and seeing the tangible difference that we are able to make through our programs and services is incredibly rewarding. I am also inspired by the passion and dedication of our team members and volunteers, who are committed to working towards our mission.
How can OBC change the world?
We work to implement solutions that improve water quality and reduce pollution, which has a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of our communities and the environment.
Also, by collaborating with other organizations and stakeholders, we are able to amplify our efforts and drive broader systemic change.
What's your favorite quote?
